Frontend Developer

magicseaweed is recruiting a talented, motivated frontend developer for our small team. This is your chance to play a key role in building critical features of our surf forecasting application that reaches hundreds of thousands of surfers around the world. About magicseaweed

magicseaweed, is the oldest, most popular and detailed free long range surf forecast, on the web. Whether you're a travelling pro, big wave aficionado, local hero or weekend warrior; with a little effort you can use our tools to score more of the right waves across the globe. Every month millions of surfers all over the world check MSW before they hit the beach.

magicseaweed isn't about telling you where to go or when, instead providing you with the knowledge to become your own surf forecasting expert. With a little of your time and the help we provide you can accurately make the call wherever you choose to surf.

Key responsibilities

  • Write efficient, lean, performant code and supporting tests and documentation.
  • Contribute to UI discussion, implement new features, take part in QA processes.
  • Collaborate with other team members, through paired programming, and peer review.
  • Participate in SCRUM & standup discussions.
  • Role requirements

  • Expert knowledge of development and architecture in one of our core technologies.
  • A real passion for software engineering and the ability to conceive robust and scalable solutions.
  • Related degree or commercial experience an advantage.
  • Experience of independently working on UI/UX projects
  • Required skills
